Hey guys i have seen a few sub boxes around that are clear made of thick plexi or Lexan and i was wondering what it would take to build one of these and what do you need to do to prevent splitting the Plexi and is it any less stronger than MDF. I also own a MTX 9500 so its a big and heavy sub so its a little hard on it i can imagine so any imput would be great thanks Chad

There have been a couple earlier threads about using lexan or poly.  Yes, it can easily be done.  Yes, it is just as strong if not stronger than MDF.  Yes, it is very expensive.  Estimate $500 to $750 for a 3 cuft ported enclosure.

lexan is not cheap, but it is very strong. We use it on our stock car. Wind screen, ground fx, rear spoiler, front airdam all made of lexan. good stuff.
