Hi everyone. I was wondering how thick of speaker cable should I use for a 55Ft run..

The load will be 225watt Max @8 ohms

Thank you in advance.. I looked thru all the calculators. but i couldnt find the speaker table.

Use Ohm's Law to find amperage I = sq rt (P / R ).  225 / 8 = 28.  The square root is 5.3.  So 5.3 amps is the current the wire has to be able to carry.  Not much, due to the high impedance and low wattage.

Here's a great calculator for that.  You can see that with using 16 gauge wire the decibel loss is less than half a decibel, which is an inaudible result.

For that long of a run go down one, possibly two for safety, guages.

To be safe I'd go with 12awg

Stevdart is correct.  No need to use anything larger than 16 AWG.
