2002 avalanche with on star...thought and 1858 plug would work but i've got no sound...what else do i need???

i ran into the same problem with a 2001 yukon with onstar no bose. maybe an interface? it would play for a few minuted then quit.

You sure it doesn't have the amp behind the glove box high up in the kick panel?

if there is another harness in the back of the ractory radio then try to remote turn-on to the pink wire.....i have did this in the same car and it worked.  I am not sure if a amp intergrator is needed but u can find that out when u get audio.

You will need a PAC OS1...This way you will still have On-Star operational and it will power the amp and hook up everything in one shot....No guess work or rigging involved....

there are two harnesses that plug into the factory headunit. the main includes the speaker wires power ground and memory. then the second connector is the onstar plug. yuo have to power i think its the orange wire or a pink wire to cut the factory amp on or the speakers will only play for a few seconds then cut off.

hey thanks for all your help and suggestions...just went ahead and bypassed everything and ran new wires to the speakers...guy said he didn't want the on-star to begin with...thanks though
