Hello everyone. I have a rockford power 551s that i lost the remote bass knob for. i know that it is basically a potentiometer, and a rj11 cable, but i dont remember what wires to connect to what.. anyone know how to build your own remote bass knob, or can give me a shcematic? thanks
Mike
If you have a HU with sub controls, you don't need the remote bass knob.

Do it right the first time
my headunit has that, but i found that using thier bass knob amplifies 40hz and below more, so i find i get much more output using it.. that is why i wanted to try and make one..
This makes for an interesting question I was about to ask in a new post: is it possible to make or add a sub controller to an amp that doesn't have one from the manufacturer?
Might be a stupid question......

Subtlety is EVERYTHING.
i dont know about the ability to make one for an amp that doesnt have the capability.. mine has a rj11 jack for this box, wich i have lost, and was wondering if anyone knew the schematic to make one yourself...
It would be best to just call RF up and order one, or even check flea bay.

You could make a remote level controller but not a bass boost controller. There are modules out there that have a remote boost dial.
