Hey all,

What's the deal with the factory amp in the new 2005 jeep grand cherokees, if I plug in the stock stereo the amp will turn on, so if I unplug it and plug in the aftermarket, it will work fine, but after a few minutes of the key being off, the amp turns off and will not turn back on with the aftermarket stereo even with the remote wired in.

Please help asap, I appreciate it!

Supposedly, the 05 Grand Cherokee is all CAN bus, and it is not recommended to take the radio out. I am sure the amp is shutting off because it is seeing no communication with the factory radio. Some one correct me if they have heard anything different.

Mabye this is the same problem our freind with the 2002 T&C is having. He describes the same problem. I myself havent ran into this yet so I would love to hear if any one has a solution for this before I have to drop a deck in one of these things
