I've visited this site many times and it has taught me many things but it does not answer my question. What tools do I need to bench test my amp? besides a power source?

You need:

an accurate voltmeter
an oscilloscope
a speaker simulator
a 200 watt, 4 ohm resistor
a BIG power supply - start with 100 amps
a signal source - an old HU or PC work well
time - LOTS of time
knowledge - more than you have, and it can get expensive for schooling
patience
a customer base - otherwise it is not really worth all the expense

I've done it myself in the past, and it is can be WAY more bother than it's worth. I took 6 months of electronics school, and I have a military electronics background. I will tell you it can be a difficult road to travel!

It all reminds me of something that Molière once said to Guy de Maupassant at a café in Vienna: "That's nice. You should write it down."

I think your right! This is something beyond my level, it would be nice to know how but some of the tools are way too much for me to purchase for just personal usage. Thanks again.
