What did you all do (without going expensive fiberglass or nasty hack job) when installing an aftermarket normal sized DIN headunit into the factory space? The side walls come in to far on our MK3s. Expierence?? thanks all!
Toyota's are IOS din mount. Most major brands allow you to remove the trim ring around the deck and then mount the radio using the factory radio support brackets. This all sits behind the console . Look into getting a mounting kit, which gives you a pocket under the deck.

The pocket is available from Scosche, model #TN2150 or is available at the local Toyota dealer. Should be less than $25.00. The above info is bang on about mounting. On the sides of the cd player you will see indented holes, these holes line up perfectly with the mounting holes in the factory radio mounting brackets. Thus, 4 bolts into the cd player and 4 bolts into the dash. Remove the trim bezel from the front of the unit (and the mounts for it) and it will fit like a glove.
