A friend of mine wants to install a pair of subs behind the rear seat of his crew cab, but he wants to keep the factory Bose system.  What would be the best route to take concerning the amp connections.  Would a regular line output converter work or this would require a special adapter.  Thanks for any help

You are going to need a adjustable LOC or even better is a Audio Control LC6. You will also need a super shallow mount driver in this truck. Once you put an amp in the back (I imagine that he wants the seats to fold down still), there is not a crapload of real estate left over. Unless you relocate the jack to the front passenger inner fender. We just brought in a AVI SL500 10" driver for this very vehicle. Look them up at www.avisound.com
