Subject: 9500 Power Rating?

I have been looking into picking up a couple 12" 9500's because I can get MTX stuff for 75% off, and i am an mtx guy, but the mtx site says that they are only rated for 800-1000rms. I was under the understanding that they could handle a lot more than that. Does anyone know if that is maybe just a safety thing or what? Also need an opinion on what to run for amps... either 4 800w/1000w amps (1 per voicecoil) at 4ohms, or 2 1600w/2000w amps (1 per sub) at 2 ohms.... any suggestions?

Thanks

Kenny

Why not just get one nice, solid amp to power both of them? with like 1,600-2,000w RMS

I want to stick with all MTX equipment. Does MTX make a solid amp that is 1 ohm stable??

Hey Kenny, you can get the TA91002 which is 750 x x 2 @1 ohm ( 1500 w total ). Or you can stick with a Cladd D from them and use their new TA92001 which is rated at 2000 x 1 @ 2 ohms and 3000 w total @ 1 ohm

So it is 1 ohm stable? I was looking at that amp, but I wasnt sure if it was one ome stable. Then I'll just run the single 3000w x1 to both subs (dual voicecoil x2 subs=1ohm)... yaaaaaay!!!!   lol

Thanks

Kenny
