I have an old 5443 headunit, one of the ones plagued with that "eskips" problem from back in the day. The wierd thing with it was it worked fine for about 5 years, and then started doing it, so ofcourse I missed out on their 4 year warranty, but I really like the headunit, and would like to have it repaired if its worth it. Heck, even if I don't have a use for it now, it'll make it easier to sell, did see a few on ebay a while back going for about $200.00, (or if anyone is interested in it feel free to contact me) but how would I go about having it fixed now? I emailed United Radio and they said around $95.00.
Has anyone here had to deal with this specific problem with these older Eclipse decks, and if so how did you go about having them serviced out of warranty?
Thanks in advance
Eclipse will happily repair ANY of their decks, in or out of waranty. 100 dollars sounds like about the right price. My opinion? Get the manufacturer of the unit to do the service it needs... They WILL know it best

It all reminds me of something that Molière once said to Guy de Maupassant at a café in Vienna: "That's nice. You should write it down."
