How long would the radio stay on lets say if the door didnt open ? and is there a way to kill this feature ? I think it's 10 minutes.

It's a 10 minute cycle. I know there is a single wire in the harness that controls this, if you want to figure it out and disconnect it.

I have a 98 s-10  and mine stays on for 20 minutes. why would you want to kill it other then the remote start problem. I think its good to have

Test to see if the a/c controls are on a separate accessory circuit from the radio.  If so, simply disconnect the one that feeds the radio from your remote start.  The main thing you really need remote start for aside from warming the engine is to warm up or cool off the interior.

So the ACC wire for the radio remains hot until one of the door triggers hits or senses ground………Would running a new ACC wire solve this ? Keep it simple.

Sounds like to me the easiest way to fix the problem is to hit the POWER button on the head unit and turn it off. Or if that doesn't float your boat, you could always turn the volume all the way down. That would work too posted_image . Can't get too lazy ya know...

what you want to do is wire the "rearm" wire from your RS unit to the drivers door pin wire in your vehicle... that way when the Starter times out or you shut it off the circuit designed to rearm the factory alarm will actually pulse the door pin circuit replicating opening the drivers door... this will automatically shut off the radio as soon as the remote starter shuts down.....

simple as can be... i wire all starters this way on vehicles with a RAP circuit.....
