Looking for some Pre-Advice on Tuning/setting JL 1000/1 Amp. The IDmax 12 V3 D2 will be ran in series. I will be installing my system at the end of this week and I listen to a variety of music. I would like some others who are running this same set-up to give me their tune setting on this 1000/1 Amp (every setting). I am using a Jl 300/4 with boston Pro's for my mids and hi's but I keeping that amps' setting the same from my last set-up. I am wanting to know if JL's Advanced Bass Control (remote knob) is worth getting and if this is used much. Thank you,

I will be installing this in a 2005 F-250 Superduty Crew Cab and using an Alpine CDA-9835 Head-unit

Yes, it is definately worth getting the RBC (remote knob).  I wish I could help you with the settings on the 1000/1, but I only have the 500/1.

I bought my RBC from Sound Advice (Tweeter) for around $35.00.

It is my understanding that since my Alpine H/U has a Parametric EQ, that I do not need the (Remote Knob. The knob controls the boost setting on the amp only but I am still looking for some advice. 12db or 24db on the slope. What setting on the Q, center and Boost . Where should the infransic filter be set at. Any answers would be greatly appreciated

I can only tell you how my 500/1 is set. The center is set at 40Hz, boost is at 0 (since I am using an RBC), Infrasonic is set at 20 Hz, I am still playing with the "Q".
Even with the H/U parametric EQ it is fast and easy to boost the center frequency using the RBC, I don't like to play with the H/U EQ while driving.
I listen to various types of music, mainly jazz, therefore when I get the urge to listen to some bass music I can just turn the remote knob and boost the 40Hz which would otherwise be flat.
Hope this helps.

Your best bet would be one of two things, since there would be very few people (if any) on this board that would have the EXACT same setup as you do:

1) take it to a qualified shop (not Best Buy or Circuit City or anything like that) and have them set it for you.

2) if you don't want to pay to have this done, just play it by ear. You're the one listening to it, set it how YOU like it, not how someone else thinks it should be set.
