I have a 94 camaro z28 and since I bought the car ive noticed multiple electrical problems. My parking brake light comes on when i turn the car on then fades out for some odd reason. My gas light has never worked since i bought it. And my door buzzer turns on every time the door is opened, and if u lean on the car it seems to short out, and then randomly come back on. My dad told me all of the problems could be coming from a single short, but i have yet to find it. I'm trying to steer away from tearing my dashboard apart, but the problem needs to go away, ive run out of gas more than once and had to push so its a definite problem. Should i just give it to the pros and hope for a low price or do it up myself?
did you buy the car new? have there been any accessories installed? the door buzzer is a good place to start, you can pull the underdash panel out to access ign switch wiring (as if you were putting in a starter) and then meter the key sense circuit to try to track down that problem.... you may even find that wiring has been hacked into that may indeed cure all your problems.... just go slow and dont try to do more than you actually know how to do... it's the guys who get in way over their heads before they ask for help that usually fail.....

The car was bought from a used dealer, who didnt seem to know anything about the car except the price. Go figure. The wiring in the car has had a few accesories put in...... a few that i know of so far but as I go I keep finding more. The fuse box on the side of the dash has had one addition as far as i know, its a vac. gauge. Its obviously rigged but its not grounding out anywhere that i know for sure. There was an electronic shift improver but it waz yanked out somewhere i have the box itself and the wiring but i dont know where it went to. the parkin brake cable and wire is rigged somehow, found that out by having to chase my car down a hill. I was told that the gas light could just be a burnt bulb, but idk. Any help is appreciated, thanks.
