I am leasing a Mini Cooper and so I can't do any alteration to the interior. I would like to add a sub to the back though. Since I can't run a power line from the battery through the firewall, I was wondering if anyone had heard of running an amp (Pioneer Premier GM-X402) by using the 12V power outlet located in the back of the car. I know fusing might be an issue, but I wasn't sure if the wiring was able to take the load.

I would probably guess that's a no... but not just no - how 'bout NO WAY...
Even IF the fuse was rated 20A or so, the cable supplying the thing wouldn't supply the required power. Too much voltage drop. Who says you can't run a power cable? There should be no reason you can't go through the firewall... I would bet there's a hole there SOMEWHERE...
------------- It all reminds me of something that Molière once said to Guy de Maupassant at a café in Vienna: "That's nice. You should write it down."
