Subject: question about .4 cu ft difference in box

I was originally installing four 12's and a comp level 11" in my Integra, then decided the 11" was kind of dumb, even though it would be receiving double the power of the 12"s, it would still sound off or not even a noticeable gain, so I decided to not to use and it get another 12" in it's place. However, I have already made all the boxes to exact measurement's for my 'teg, so I can't really change the size of the box volume. I need to change the volume of the box because the 12's are all in 1.185 cu ft boxes, and the 11" would've been in a 1.45 cu ft box. I was going to just use this box for the new 12" and cut the hole out a little bigger, but then is it going to sound off if each 12" is in a 1.185 cu ft box and just that one is in a 1.45 cu ft box. Will this sound bad. I was thinking of just not using a 5th sub at all, and putting a 17" screen in it's place (flush mounted, and would fit nicely). Any comments or suggestions on this? I want the 5th sub, but it not using it would save 400 watts (which helps in a 2000 watt RMS system (true calculated, not BS advertised on amps)).
Thanks

What you could do is just make a small box to fill the uneven airspace in the current box then nail it in place. I show that you would need to fill 466.5 cu inches. Not knowing what the dimensions of your current box are, you would need to fill a 8x8x7.25 (464 cu in) inch area in your current box.

I think the 4 subs should be enough, adding a 5th sub will throw off the load on your amp/amps, and could cause trouble later down the line.      Go with your screen idea,    Big screens are really nice they get lots of ohhhs and ahhhhs

Here's what I forgot to mention. Each box has a plexi front side (about $30), plexi mirror against the inside back (about $25), and all other sides are covered with "silver carbon fiber" aka Hexcel Texalium (about $30). I don't really have the time or money to build a new box, or make the existing box smaller without hacking it up and/or breaking it. Each sub would've been getting 400 watts RMS (2k constant), so probably better I go with the 4. Still with front components will be pushing 1750 watts RMS, not including over 30 neon tubes and strobes, carputer, PS2, etc. Got a HO 180 amp alternator and secondary battery for all this crap. Thanks for the help

Good God that is quite a load for your charging system. Did you upgrade the "Big Three" wires? Do you have any pics too?

actually I have yet to upgrade the "Big 3", but is on the list before I finish the install. All boxes and amp rack are built, just waiting for carbon fiber to come in and put them in the car. Will def post pics when done.
