My lil bro wants to get a sub in his truck. He has a 92 Ford F150 extended cab and he doesnt have any room to work with. So he justs wants a lil sub, anyways which of these two subs would be the better, a JL Audio 8" W7 or a Kicker 8" L7. The box is going to be a custom fiberglass enclosure and he says he wants a port but im not sure if I'll put one in the box. Any suggestions on other subs or the box would be great. Thanks alot.

I'm thinking save some money and go with the L7 here.

Neither.  That truck SURELY has the room for a 12" sub.

Well my lil bro has no job and doesnt have enough money for a 12" and hes keeping the back seat in and even if he had the money for a 12" it would be too much trouble to get it in cause he wouldnt even enjoy it hes not really into the big bass stuff he just wants a lil somethin or else i would put a 12" in.

I would look at a Bazooka-style enclosure, then.  It would be easier to sell and trade up in the future.

Personally I would choose the 8w7 if both were a total option, but it sounds like you are looking for totally the wrong thing here.  You said your little brother is not looking for incredibly bass, he just wants some smooth clean low end, although the 8w7 and to an extent the 8L7 will do that, they seem like very innefective ways of doing so.  You said you are going for an 8 because you cant afford a 12, yet you are looking at two of the most expensive 8 inch subs on the market, not to mention the cost of powering these beasts would be hefty.  Have you considered getting two 8w3s or a similar 10" sub, they would fit, fit the budget, and sound awesome in that truck.  Maybe consider your options and costs a little more before choosing a $350 8" sub.

But if you can, those little 8w7s are SWEET!
