Help! trying to fit radio/CD into 1992 Volkswagen Golf. I have take out Sony radio/cassette and looking at the connector block from left to right on the top row is black, red, blue, grey, purple, green & white. Bottom row is yellow, grey/black, PURPLE / black, GREEN/ black & WHITE/ black. I guess the grey, grey/black, etc are speaker + & - for front and rear speakers. But clarification on whats what would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Matt

what are the colors on the new cd player ??? normally you just match  the colors of 11 wires you use 12 if your using an aftermarket amp the yellow is constant power the red is  ign. switched power the blue is remote turn on or power ant. the white and gray sets of wires are the fronts and the green and purple set are the rears

Get a wiring harness. Dont cut your wires!! It's so much simpler to install a radio with a wiring harness and makes it easy to reinstall the factory deck.
