I just had my car metered at a local show and shine and was wondering if 147.8 was a good place to be wiht a mrd-m1000, 2 treo ssi 12's, and a large centerport enclosure.

If you intend to compete in SPL find out what db the winner had in the last local contest in your category.  Then go from there.  147.8 db is plenty loud for me, I can assure you that!

Build the box so that it performs well in the worst case scenario and, in return, it will reward you at all times.

what meter?   Term Lab or Audio Control?,   If term lab very nice score, if audio control still a good score, but keep working before you go into a show

The mic makes a big differance, the audiocontol mic is not as accurate as the term lab. Also was the mic on the dash/windsheild or at the port or headrest?? Where I live 147 would be a really good score, most people hit high 130s or low 140s and not much higher. One guy with a caravan with 4 15" subs in a wall gettin like 3000Wa piece hit 155db.

yeah, meter makes a huge differance. If its official DbDrag compitition, you should have been metered at the dash with the termlab and that is a damn good score. Very loud...

But that sounds about right... ported treo's... what vehicle? What is the box tuned to? What did you play to hit that number?

it's a 98 cavalier and I played a 50hz tone. I am not sure what the box is tuned to. The passenger was just holding the mike in front of her chest.

wasnt a term pro then... Those suction cup to the windsheild... You can probably increase that number if you find the right note to play, as high as 2-3 dB more!
