ok, so im using winISD to design a box for my home theater setup, tuned to 19hz, and im running into the problem that if i have enough port cross sectional area to keep the chuffing noise down (usually less than 20m/s air velocity) then the port length called for is 90 inches long! and thats with two ports! the box is only going to be around 3cu/ft, and if i have 180 inches of port coiled up in there, then there wont be much volume for the subwoofer. any recommendations on this?? or am i just not reading the program correctly??

Use one port. 3cuft tuned to 19Hz with a 4" diameter port = 28.35 inches. ------------- Support the12volt.com

Slot ports can also help you out. You can get more port area than just about any round port, and you can just add on to the the side of the box! My Dayton MKIII subwoofer in my home, i designed the enclosure using WinISD, and is a fairly flat response.
