I have a Ford 2002 Ranger with a sony amp and a Kicker solo baric sub I want to hook the amp to the oem radio so I bought a high low level sound quest converter. The converter has five wires on gray, gray/black, brown, BROWN / black and a black wire. I assumed that the gray and brown were positives right and left and the BLACK/ BROWN / gray were negative and the black wire was ground. but when I hooked amp up nothing comes out of the sub there is power to the amp 12volts I test with multimeter so I know my ground is good can anyone help.

Did you not get a diagram with the LOC ? Never assume anything when it comes to electronics. Find out for sure before you try any connections. Where did you get the remote turn on lead from to turn the amp on ?

The remote turn on came with the amp kit I went and got another LOC with a diagram and hooked it up and still nothing. When I touch the two rca jacks with my finger from the amp I get no hum or nothing. I have power on the amp the green light is on and the remote turn on is 12volts as well as the constant on my volt meter. I am stuck.

I'd re-check all the speaker connections (inside the box as well as outside). If a lead has come loose, you'd get no sound.

My sources tell me that your Rear Left speaker colors are grey/lt blue (+) and tan / YELLOW (-) and Rear Right are ORANGE / red(+) and BROWN / pink (-). If you dont have anything else to go by, the I would also assume that the grey and brown are (+) and the grey/black and BROWN / black are (-). Check these four connections and make sure they match. Where are you grounding the amp? Have you tried hooking another speaker up to the amp to see if it will play? You may have a fried woofer and no problem with the signal going to the amp.

What you did wrong is wiring the high level adapter. Gray is positive right, gray/black is negitive right. Brown is positive left, and BROWN / black is negative left. Do not need black, only use when have engine noise
