I burnt the resistors the other day on my hifonics bx1500d amp, and I don't know why.  Is this just a hifonics problem, or have I done something wrong.  It has been powering my (don't laugh), audiobahn aw1206t, since january and no problems until one day starting smoking like crazy.  Anyway I have the amp wired up parallel on a two ohm load, which hifonics says is stable at 1000 watts on the 1500d.  Anyone know what went wrong, and if this will happen again with a hifonics product?  They just sent me the new bx1605d, so any input would be appreciated.  Thanks.

I've heard some people say that hifonics amps are a bit overratted on thier rms output numbers, but hey I just ordered the TX 1505D and it should be here any day now so we'll see.

Seems that the general consensus is the bx1605d and most of their new stuff is much more reliable then the bx1500d was, so you shouldn't have any more problems.

I have had my BX1500D running on a 1ohm load for 7-8 months now and I havent encountered any problems, but like TruckSystem said the newer line is actually supposed to be more stable, I would not worry about it happing to the newer amps, let us know how that 1605 works I might just upgrade

cool thanks for the info, and redrazor, I knew some guy who had his 1500x bench tested and is supposed to be 1000 watts at 2 ohms, and it was only pushing 770, just to give you an idea.  I haven't bench tested the new model yet, but lets hope the stablilty and output is there.
