Well, it's been a couple years since I had done any car audio installation. With working on my 2000 sunfire, found the factory deck didn't have the RCA cable for the amp. Fortunately I had bought an amplifier with high-level input wires.
Now my question is, how does one wire up the high-level inputs to the factory deck??
Should be pretty straightforward in the amp manual. L & R +/- from deck to corresponding inputs on amp. Your factory deck may have a comman ground, in which case just split to both (-) inputs on the amp. Don't marry the front/rear outputs on the deck, just use one pair. Be sure to tweak the input levels after wiring it all up.
Unfortunately the amp I bought didn't come with a manual. I managed to hook it up memory of the last one I did. Ran 4 of the 8 wires on the High Input to the two rear speakers to make sure it was right. (seemed to be the correct way with the markings on the amp) Yet while the amp powers on, I've got a good ground, the speakers still won't work via the amp. Also there's a "B+" hook up on the 'power' section of the amp. Any idea what that's for?

Oooh. That'd be for "battery +." Sure you know what you're doing? You may want to take this to a shop before you get in over your head. If you want to press on, here's the layout for 99.9% of the amps out there. If it doesn't cover yours, I'll need some real specifics:
12volt + to battery. This is the positive power wire. Big wire.
12volt - to vehicle frame. This is the negative. Big wire.
12volt + to CD player, etc. Small wire. This is the remote wire. Conecct to remote output from the deck, sometimes called the power antenna output. This'll turn the amp on/off.
Be sure to get the phase (the +/-) on the inputs right or at least consistent. If they get confused, the music will sound "non-specific wierd" & annoying. Same with the outputs, but the result sounds different if you botch those.
if you get alternator noise in the speaker signal, and you probably will, try grounding your deck at the spot you ground the amp. Good luck.
