bad. those subs require an enclosure. if you want to do this you need a "free air" sub or an "infinate baffle" sub.

u could build a box to hold the 8"s and sill stick them up through the rear deck

just check the specs on the subs and build a small enclosure to hold them

It's not a great idea any way you look at it.  If you already have a 12" sub(s) in the trunk you shouldn't use any more subs.  If you don't have a bigger size sub, you should work on making that happen and forget about trying to get subwoofer response with 8's in the rear deck.

Build the box so that it performs well in the worst case scenario and, in return, it will reward you at all times.

I recommend that you get a set of HOME 8in coaxials. I've found that they have EXCELLENT response down to ~25~30Hz. This is MUCH lower then you'd normally cross them over to a sub. So you could run them WITHOUT a sub it you'd like to.

Check online, you should be able to find a descent coaxial for ~$100.

ALso, I second the enclousure thought.

IIRC you have direrct access to the speaker mounts from the trunk, meaning nothing in your way.

I recommend an Aperiodic mat enclosure just large enough to house the driver frame.

For more details just ask.
