I had an install i was doing an inspection on (72 Cutlass supreme) with a jensen amp, and solo (12") JL w3 sub in it.....everytime he stops at the light (applying the brake) the bass shuts off.....your thoughts?

P.S. there's an optima battery in it (red top) and a new ("upgraded") alternator

So does it stop whenever you apply the brake or just when stopped?

Yes, is it using the brake pedal or the engine speed dropping that causes the problem?

Check your remote turn on wire... Seems stupid, but it might be hooked up to the wrong thing... Also where is it grounded?

I had a friend that didnt want to run the remote wire back all the way to the deck so he tried to plug it to a switched 12v. But he managed to hook it up to horn output. the remote wire was the first thing i checked... just to piss him off I would honk the horn which in turn would turn on his amp and his subs... pretty funny

Is it factory head unit still?  Or an aftermarket one?  Sounds like a factory one to me and they may have accidentally grabbed a wire that is not a 12v ignition.  Basically just probe the wires with a meter and step on the brakes, find the one thats ignition but dosn't turn off, pretty simple.
