I just got a Panasonic Cd player from a friend. The cd player turns on and the picture plays and the bars bounce around so i know its getting signal, But i have yet to get sound, so i hooked it straight to the battery, to trouble shoot it, and when i did, i got a slight bit of sound, no where loud enough, in fact it was turned all the way up. Also, when i had it in the car, it would heat up very quickly to the point where you couldnt touch it. If anyone could help, I would very much appreciate it. Thanks and God Bless!

sounds like one of your speakers could be grounding out

Remove all the speakers from the CD player and find another speaker that you can test the speaker leads to. Check each speaker and if they all work, then reconnect the 4 speaker's from the car again and see if your problem persists. If so post your results.

I did as you guys suggested,I un hooked all speakers, and found another one to hook up, but still no sound??? I got to wondering if maybe there is a fuse inside of the cd player for the internal amp that might be blown, what do you guys think???

your speaker leads are blown. It's a $100 fix up here in Canada for that.
