Is there a simple mathematical equation to calculate what your subbox dimensions should be.  Expecially if you now some of them like the cu. ft. you know and the minimal hight and width.  I have seen programs on how to build your own box but they seem to be alittle confusing.

base x height x width / 1728= cu. ft

For internal volume you have to minus 1.5 from each measurement then divide by 1728.

Box dimesions can change depending on what size and what type of enclosure you are going for

Ok so I have a audiobahn 10 inch sub with .15 cub there is no way to get that with those measurements if i was to make the box 10" high and 6 inches deep (the sub only has a mounting depth of 5") the width would have to be like 4.5 inches and thats impossible right?

You are building a sealed enclosure from the enclosures volume specs that you give. Most of audiobahns subs use a volume of around 1 cubic foot. So if you have to go a little bit bigger to make it work . The good thing about a sealed enclosure is that you have room to play with the volume as apposed to a ported one. The calculation dose not has to be exact. You can use the 12volts calculator https://www.the12volt.com/caraudio/boxcalcs.asp#rec  to find a size that will work for you.
