newbie to this site, but old school to installing  I have not made install or purchase for about five years always used jl audio ,im thinking of updating my system in old car . iwant to use my old amp (kicker VR1000) to power some new 10" subs looking to use 2 dual 4ohm what would be a good choice to replace old round kicker solarbarics 15". im going to try my first fiberglass for the 2 10"

going for balance but more sq and im asking for good subs meaning they need to handle appox 500 watts each being a 10". usually like to buy a name i can trust but ive been out of this hooby for so long the only sub i know is the jlw7 because i read car stereo review or mobli lelectronics looking for the best sounding, rms handling for the most reasonable price

you could go with W7's but you would need more power  go to www.soundstream.com and checkout the van gogh's they can handle 500RMS and they are well rounded with the amp you have and the sound you are going for i think this is your bewst bet IMO

You should have a look at the Xtant X1044 4 Ohm DVC and see if it tickles your fancy. Xtant is a very uber brand!

JL's optimum rating for the 10" W7 is 500 RMS, however since they are only available with a single 3 ohm voice coil your amp would not be putting out this much power. Go with the 10" W6V2, it has the dual 4 ohm coils you want and is very close to the W7 sonicly. JL used W6V2s in there 61 Mini and a lot of people regard this as the best SQ car ever built. We have dual 10" W6V2s in one of our store demo cars and it sounds outstanding.

I would recommend the 10W6V2, outstanding sound quality.

Consider the tried and true Eclipse aluminum series of subs as well. This has been my standoff favorite for almost 6 years now. Takes a 1.25 cu.ft. sealed enclosure to deliver amazing results.

love these woofers. i decided to do a custom install & purchased a 15" ascendant avalanche which is a top notch woofer. i'm going to fiberglass a enclosure on the r/r cargo area of my mdx. i sold these woofers to a good friend of mine & he loves them.

thanks for the  info, think I might go with infinity's dual 4ohm version of perfect 10.1d

why not go with 12's? if you do decide to go with the infinity's, make sure you build the box to specs as they are very picky subwoofers. they don't like small boxes.

trying to gain more cargo space and use some more watts out of the amp, im taking out two kicker solo barics s15d the old round ones svc4ohm. with them hooked up amp only produced 600watts if that, need dual 4 to utilize all watts.

you might consider 1 12" id max dual 4 ohm. very efficient sub & will work great of those 600 watts. perfect sql sub. these would be my choice if i were you.

If you want a really nice 10" speaker with amazing SQ that will deliver the sound you want, you can't beat a (guess what) Nakamichi SPW1000D. They are great woofers. They are made of top of the line materials and they sound wonderful.
Try those or look into the SP-W124S... Really good woofers.
Better than Kicker anyday for SQ or even most JL subs IMO.

"I don't play games. I play Nakamichi and that for real yo" - Probably some japanese kid said this in the early 80's trying to sell stereo out of his trunk lol.
