I have seen something that looked like a bass blocker but instead of blocking bass it blocked out highs. Does anyone know where I can find some of these.
Thank's for the sight, there is some other stuff on there I was needing too.
Capacitors are for high-pass crossovers, inductors are for low pass.
Here's a brief overview. You're looking for a low-pass crossover. I believe there are low-pass f-mods available also. These are for use on RCA cables. But of course your best bet is to purchase a real crossover.... what exactly are you tryig to accomplish?

Basically, I have 2 6 1/2 mid drivers and I am looking for a cheap solution to allow them only to process the lower frequencies.
OK. For mid bass use you really need what's called a band-pass filter (not a band-pass enclosure.) A band-pass filter is BOTH a high and a low pass crossover.
First question is are the mid-bass drivers being powered off their own amplifier or are they being added to an existing mains system? If powered off their own amp, I recomend a good 3-way electronic crossover. This will allow you to fine tune the cross points and to make sure your crossover points match between all the driver components in the system (sub, mid-bass, mains.) Or you could use a passive crossover. If you are driving these off the same amplifier channels as your mains, then you must use passive crossovers.
If you can use an electronic crossover, I suggest something like the Audio Control 4XS. If you use passives you'll probably have to build it yourself. Here's a realtively simple description of bandpass filters.
Cheers.

That makes perfect sense, I had read up on the band pass filters. The speakers are coming of the head unit, I just don't have the money for a new amp so I think the band pass filters will work fine.
