Hey my name is David and I just found this site and you seem like some guys that can help me. I own an 04 Suzuki Forenza and was looking into upgading the system and I have about $1000 to spend and I would like it to be acustom to Rap music, I.E. a lot of bass, and Was wondering if you guys have any suggestions for the amp,sub and head unit because I dont think i need new speakers.

Well David, thats a hard question. There are alot of products out there than can give you what you need. Each person you ask will prob. give you a different answer because we all like things that most of the time will be different from the next person you ask. I also listen to rap, also a lot of rock as well and i have two kicker L7's with a JBL 1200.1 amp. I'm underpowering the subs but they still have a lot of kick to them. As for a head unit i'm a huge fan of Alpine. They offer many good options and fairly user-friendly. I like Alpine but i have a Pioneer AVH-P5700DVD indash dvd player. It's the bottom of the line unit but good deal for the money. This reply wont help you much because this is just the things i like but you might be happy with a couple of JL's so my advice is go out there and try to listen / play with the products your interested in.

As said above you could sit here and grow old while we take turns telling you what we like best as far as subs and amps go.  But as he also said, that's not telling you what your ears will tell you in a minute.  Get out and visit some dealers.  Tell them what you told us here.  You'll be a lot better off doing it that way.  With what you've said you're looking for, you should be fine starting off with the big box stores.

Build the box so that it performs well in the worst case scenario and, in return, it will reward you at all times.
