hey everyone.  im looking to make an extremely loud system for my truck.  i want my music to be heard a block away and i want it to be heard clearly.  can anyone give me any suggestions as to what the best speakers, subs, and amps should be to get such great sound at high volumes???  Thanks everyone.

what size sub are you looking for? how much space is available in the truck? what kind of truck is it? how much are you looking to spend? do you want loud with clarity or just plain loud?

umm, either 10 or 12 or 15"  subs, it doesn't matter.  i want to build the subs into the floor of the trunk somehow with all the amps and stuff, so i don't loose the trunk space  (i need the room to transport DJ equipment).  its a nissan pathfinder.  i don't want to spend TOOO much, but i want good stuff.  as for sound, i want loud WITH clarity.  Thanks modena

for Clarity i would reccomend JL Audio. i have a single 10W3v2, and it rattles my vision. At the end of the day you're still going to need to take up space in the hatch cargo area, because you dont have a spare tire well to build the enclosure into. if you want to rattle the block, i'll reccomend a 12 or 13W6v2 from JL. it isnt as loud as the W7, but it's slightly less expensive and packs a serious punch. I would match it up with a JL Audio amp as well, because they take a lot of work out of setting your subs up. The Amplifier will take up the chore of finding the impedance of your setup between 4 and 1 ohms. The slash series is the best for subs as far as i am concerned. You could either get 2 500/1s or a single 1000/1 and hook the speakers up in parallel. This end of the buying market would be more expensive, but i consider it worth every penny. If you want to go really over the top, go with the 13W7 and you will have superior clarity for the amount of booming bass it produces.

IMO  JL  is over priced  you want your system loud and clear and don,t want to take up to much space i would suggest 2 10" or 12''  soundstream van gogh's and a picasso pca1000d or an X stream 880.2  X stream componets and a picasso pca 260.4  the 12" van gogh's only need 0.6 cubes of air space  and if you want it even louder you could go with a 15" SPLX and a picasso pca2000D

hey man modena is right jl 12" is quite a sub and when powered right that alone can rattle down the great wall of china and for the clarity i have had good luck with infinitys kappa series components powered my uncle has 5 1/4" kappa components front and kappa 5x7" rears in a f350 diesel and it drowns out the engine and sounds great at the same time you can look around for them on the internet and get a great deal on them i think that he paid 250 each
