Hello, FNG here.
First Post.
I just installed my first stereo system, and it's in my boat.
Everything is working fine, from the tuner, but the head unit is not sending the signal from the CD Changer to the pre-outs for the amps. The head unit is an Alpine CDA 7892, and an Alpine 6 disk changer.
The head unit sees and talks to the changer. According to the display, the sing is playing. But no signal is going to the amps. The tuner plays through the amps just fine though. Please help.
The other issue is that CD won't play from the head unit, they all say ERROR. I assume it's just broke.
Thanks for any help!
Jason.
Nevermind.......Problem solved, I tossed the head unit. Went to much higher end Pioneer. Very happy with it.
Does anyone know if you can get a connector to plug an Alpine Changer into the Pioneer headunit?
Thanks.
Jason.

There is no such connector. Pioneer uses the IP Bus connector while Alipne uses an Ai-Net/M-Bus connector.

However, you COULD get the FM modulator controller for the Alping CD changer. It won't be a perfect a signal, but you wouldn't HAVE to throw away a (potentially) perfectly good changer.

It all reminds me of something that Molière once said to Guy de Maupassant at a café in Vienna: "That's nice. You should write it down."
