when i carpet or cover my sub enclosure, should i carpet after determining where the edge of the sub will rest, or should i carpet the entire thing, then mount the underside of the sub to the carpet?  does it matter, and what is the convention?  thanks

Carpet the whole box including the hole where the sub goes and after the entire box is covered, take a utility knife and cut out the inside of the hole but leave extra material about 2 inches from the edge so that this extra will fold inside of the box.
