I was at the local car audio shop today and one of the workers told me about a car show going on tomorrow. They were going to be testing your DB's, and they could also find your sweet spot. I didnt know what the sweet spot was but the worker explained to me that they stick a cd in your cd player that plays all the low hertz and then they stick a decible meter on the dash and each low note the cd plays, the decible meter tells your what decibles your hitting. When you find out what herts your system plays the loudest decibels you have found your sweet spot. The shop worker said the sweet spot would tell me which frequency to tune my new box for 4 15"s at. Right now i have a box tuned at 32 hz for 2 15"s. I wanted to know if someone could help explain where i should tune my new box. Thankyou

What he is calling a "sweet spot" (a term from home audio that is mainly N/A in a car) is actually locating the cabin gain peak resonance of your vehicle. This is the frequency at which your vehicle adds the most SPL due to the physical size/shape/materials and construction of the vehicle itself. You will be able to generate the highest SPL number at this frequency. In most passenger cars, it is around 50Hz.
