Thanks, I'm going to try it soon.
Sorry to post this again but I'm completely lost trying to remove the factory radio on a Honda Civic 2002. I got some instructions with the trim kit:
I think its in Chinese because I don't get it (LOL)
Really if anyone has detailed instructions I could really use them.
Couldn't find the panels, clips etc.
The screws that you have to remove are all visible when you move the seats forward and back. Remove the center console by sliding it to the back of the car and this reveal 2 more scres at the center dash area that holds the power connector to the dash. Remove this part and then it will reveal the bottom of the radio where you can remove the 8 mm bolts that hold the OEM player in place in the dash. Remove the entire assembly where the player is along with the HVAC controls. Unplug all the connectors and remove the player from the assembly. When purchasing a kit, make sure that it is for the 2000 - 2002, the 2003 is slightly different.

parking brake trim panel? Is that panel where the shifter is? Where are the clips? I found 1 on each side of the console towards the front of the car. Round ones you pull out. Are those it?
Bro it's really easy, you know below your stereo and above your cupholders, where the outlet for the lighter is and there's two empty slots that you can put additional buttons, remove that --> it's easy it snaps right off.
Disconect the plug that leads to the lighter plug, so the thing won't be in your way.
After, lie down and look up where you took out that panel. There should be two or three hex screws (I believe they are sizes 5/16"). Remove those. Now, the WHOLE panel (i.e where the radio, and the temp controls are) is ready to come out. The only that's holding it are clips all around. So... from where you removed the screws at the bottom, try and pull the metal bracket towards you so you can un-snap the console.
Once, it removed, just remove the various plugs and by looking at the console from the back it's quite obvious which screws need to removed for the stereo to come out.
Hope it helps, Dave
