Ok, i have an alpine MRV-T230 and when my car is off it'll work no problem, but going down the road with it up pretty loud the little blue light goes red, then it stops working for about 5-8 secs then the light goes blue then start wokring again, and does it constantly until i turn it down. What is causing this, what does the red light mean. Please help!

Your amp is going into protection. More info is needed. What speakers are wired to this amp and how are they wired to the amp. What guage wire is used for the power and ground and where is the ground attached to. What vehicle is it installed in. Did you check to ensure that the rca cables are not pinched and shorting out?

1991 jeep cherokee, 8 gu, power wire, and 10 gu. ground wire. 2 12 inch alpine subs. Subs are wired to a connection station on the side of the box, where the wires are connected from the amp. The RCA connecions aren't crossed, because it worked fine with my old amp. The ground is grounded to the body. Please help...

Sounds like the speaker leads may be shorting out on each other. Make sure that you do not have strands of wire touching each other on the terminals of the speaker connections.

but it only goes into that mode when yoiu go really loud, if u trun it down than it won't do that... BUT I WANT IT LOUD! :'(... Please help!

the MRV-T230 this amp is 2OHM stereo stable. if you have 2 or speakers in parallel, the impedence is halved, eg 2 4OHM speakers in parallel make 2OHM, and if these are bridged across 2 channels this means the amp sees 1 OHM per channel, which is over loading the amp especially when you turn up the VOL cos the impedence drops even further making the amp work harder. You should only have 2 or more ohms per channel. impedence is resistence in an AC circuit, the lower the resistence - the higher the current and vice-versa. in other words if you are running two speakers (4ohm each), put one speaker per channel.Bridging two together over both channels will over heat the amp. the down side is it wont go as loud.(since the amp sees 8 ohm) youll have to buy another amp to bridge the other speaker.1 speaker per amp or a cheaper way is to buy two more speakers and then just wire 2 speakers per channel giving four speakers in total of 1 amp running 2 ohm stereo stable. this optiion will go twice as loud. good luck

your ground should be the same size as your power wire also.
