I finally got my old school setup installed.

In typical newbie mode, I started off buying cheaper equipment with flashy looks and blue neon glows. As I got more and more into my carsounds I decided 'cleanliness was indeed next to Godliness' and put this system together.

Although I like fiberglassing, and had planned a snazzier layout, I decided this equipment just wouldn't look right in some wildly designed display, so I went with this cleaner look.

15" Orion Hz Bass carbon fiber sub
Orion HCCA Millennium Edition 6 1/2" 2 Ohm mids
Orion XTR200 amp,
Orion 200BIX x-over,
Orion 300BIQ preamp/equalizer all with mini XLR's and balanced lines.

and

a/d/s/ 460MX four channel amp with
a/d/s/ 336is crossovers

I have the HCCA Millenniums and aluminum tweeters on the a/d/s/ amp and xovers on the front
channel of my Alpine 9833 with HU filters sending 200hz and above

For midbass, 6 1/2" Benders are on HU rear channel getting 100hz to 250hz

Subwoofer gets everything below 100hz, first going to the BIQ pre-amp/e.q. then the BIX
and on to the amp in the summed mono mode, all balanced lines.

With midrange/ tweets on front channel and Benders doing midbass on rear channel I can use the HU fader to adjust between the two and make up for the 2 ohm Millenniums.

I just got it in over the weekend and now will start tweeking it .

In a regular cab pickup is there any point in using the Time Correction feature of my Alpine head unit?

Hot DAMN!!! That's one hell of a good lookin install.

Nice gear BTW. Keep up the good work, and you need to work for a shop as an installer.

It all reminds me of something that Molière once said to Guy de Maupassant at a café in Vienna: "That's nice. You should write it down."

Nice, I enjoy the looks of your setup very much. Less fiberglass can be a plus sometimes.

Hi bachsarte,

By any chance you have the manual for the a/d/s/ 460MX four channel amp. Changed my setup and I can't find my manual for the jumper settings...posted_image

If you have maybe you can email me a copy..Thanks

As far as your time correction settings go...It will make some difference but depending on how you have your equipment setup will change the effec it has...Couldnt hurt to go ahead and set the Time Correction....Just listen to it without it and then turn the TC on and see what sounds beter to you...You paid for it might as well use it...

OH YEAH...Nice install!

@altis

Sorry, I got the a/d/s/460MX used and never had a manual. In fact, the amp had no sides, bottom, or top plate when I got it so I made them out of plexi.
I could shoot a close up or make you a sketch of my settings if that would do you any good.

Wow!  bachsarte, that is one really fine looking install job. It's good so see someone that appreciates old school equipment. Sometimes I think the high end stuff from the late 80's to the early 90's is superior than almost anything you can buy today. You can buy some incredible car audio today but the truly high end is sooo expensive it makes more sense to get used old school equip for a fraction of the cost.
