Recently My Friend bought a alpine v drive radio from a local install shops open box sale it was one off their wall and its wire harness is missing the grey choke coil on the yellow 12 volt wire i was wanting to know if it is needed on the radio or not they never used it but is it good for the radio for it to be missing? He has a CDA-9833. I know i can order a new wire from alpines part site.

you can order a new harness by calling alpine or you can go to a car audio shop and ask for an alpine smart harness and the choke coil your probably talking about is the fuse its better to have it fused but it will work without it and you can always add a fuse holder if you want
