Subject: factory HU amp speaker question
Date Posted: July 31, 2005 at 11:53 PM

i have an 04 hyundai accent with a factory clarion deck (no preouts). i currently have a 350watt kenwood amp connected to a 10"mtx sub using my rear speaker wires. my amp has high level inputs. i currently have no rear speakers only front doors and my sub. and i was wondering if i could split my rear speaker wires to my amp and my speakers so i could have rear speakers and an amp? and if i did this would i have less power comming to my amp as some would be giong to my speakers or would it sound the same?would my HU take this or blow or do something bad?

I would go ahead and hook up your speaker to the wires but splice in a high level to low level converter and use that. they are generally 10 to 20 bucks

the converter would allow u to use rca cables to your low level inputs which are highly preferred to use it just seems to work tons better than high level inputs.

is the speaker daul voice coil? if not your amp is only seeing 8 ohms. as for being bridged just follow the marking on amp. positive should be on one side {say left} neg on other channel [right}
