You should need to use a OnStar module or a chime module but never heard of one not starting after pulling radio. You might check to see if you popped any fuses.

Make sure that the OEM stereo isn't necassary for the vehicle to start.  Cars these days are integrading everything into the OEM headunit.

For instance, the 04'+ Ford Taurus has the airbag wiring going though the OEM headunit, so you have to hide the guts of the OEM stero inside the dash somewhere if you want to go with an aftermarket headunit.

My car has the digital climate control issue that would have to be custom fabricated back into the dash some way.  posted_image

Did you disconnect the battery during the install/

Back track and re-install the OEM HU and see if the Vette starts. If it doesn, then you've found your problem. If not, then you can start looking elsewhere. Post your results.

You didn't mess with the ignition wire harness did you ? Sounds like the Passlock system. So it cranks but it doesn't run..... right ?

Sounds like the Passlock system to me, but not sure why taht would go on you if you replace the HU. Possibly when you unplugged the OEM HU ( I'm guesing you had to do this ) this would have set off the anti theft ?? Just shooting in the dark here.

Read the cars owners manual.  Some cars have certain procedures to go though if you run out of gas.  It may trigger an emergency gas shut off or something stranger.  I know my car has a switch in the truck to reset the gas in the event of an accident.  Also, sometimes disconnecting the battery again for 30 minutes or so could help.  This car is much more advanced than most of us are used to, so we are just giving possible suggestions.  Also, make sure your using a key that is programed correctly.  The owners manuel will mention this aswell.  Good luck and let us know.  Hopefully you don't have to tow it to the stealership.

First off you need to confirm that problem before trying to fix it. The best way is to bring it back to the dealership and get them to place a scan on the Vette.

If the Passlock has locked up, I think you have to wait an hour before trying to start it again.

You have to have the ignition on for about 30 minutes - 60 minutes. Did you do this ??

had nothing to do with us. one of the pins in one of the wiring harness under the hood was pushed almost all the way through the other side. the pin was only making contact every once in a while.

That's great news!  You had us all stumped for sure- well, at least I know I was scratching my head thinking, "surely this can't be due to the radio."

dont think the 06 vettes are rolling out to dealerships yet. should be out later this month.

anyways was this with or without the nav? just curious as i havn't touched the audio in my vette yet...just waiting for a few more people to take the plunge.

any major issues with the headsup display not working with the factory radio removed? and what size were the speakers?
