Subject: Best sub for $200

I'm looking at buying a new sub, and I'm looking to pay right around $200 for it.Basically, I'm looking for more boom out of my system. I'm currently running a Type R. But it's being moved to another vehicle so it's upgrade time.I'm definitely looking for more spl.. But I'm not willing to buy something like a Kicker solo baric and lose any hope of sq.This sub will go into a good sized ported box, and I'll match it with a nice powerful amp.I think I want another 12"...Unless someone can talk me into a 15" for whatever reasons.

Earlier tonight I stumbled across this Soundstream T4-12 that I thought looked kind of interesting.I've also been looking at the MTX 7500 series. Any comments on those?

if you wan't spl & don't care about sq, kicker is the way to go. they are very good spl subs. i would choose a 15" over a 12" for obvious reasons, more cone area = more spl.

Have you looked at Rockford or JL Audio?

Ocuriel - Like I said, I'm not willing to get a solo baric and give up all sq. I do want more spl, but I don't want to completely cut any hope of sq out.

Researcher - Both of those companies make great subs that are loud as hell. But I'm pretty sure for $200, I'm not going to get what I'm looking for out of either of those companies.

Check out an Resonant Engineering SE 12" ported. You can usually find some for sale on forums like this.

That looks interesting. Where do you order RE merchandise?

If you dont have an RE dealer near you, you can call RE or send them an email asking about their direct prices. Their website is www.reaudio.com

Alright, good deal. I was looking through their site, and couldn't find anywhere to buy them. And I can guarantee none of my local shops have even heard of RE.
