What are you looking for spl? sql? sq? How much are you looking to spend? How many subs do you want? How much space do you have for one?

i guess i'm looking for a good balance between spl and sq.   i'm looking to spend probably around 200ish on subs w/o boxes (i plan on building boxes).  whatever i end up getting is going in the trunk of a civic so thats what i got to work with space wise.

Look for two (two is the popular way to go) SVC 4 ohm 12" subs for that mono amp.  Each sub should have a continuous power rating of about 400 watts.  You have a budget of $100 per sub so it is possible.

BTW, everybody is looking for "a good balance between SQ and SPL", but there is no such animal.  If you enjoy music and want to set up your system for realistic music enjoyment...you want SQ.  If you want to enter loudness contests or be the loudest car heard in the neighborhood...you want SPL.  Loud SQ is not the same thing as SPL.  And most systems that have good SQ use only one subwoofer, too.  But...the younger ones amongst us seem to think that if you don't have several subs your system is lacking...

Build the box so that it performs well in the worst case scenario and, in return, it will reward you at all times.

I found a few subs really quickly that look like they'd be a nice match -
Infinity Perfect for more of an sq setup.

Or this Kicker CompVR sub for more of an spl setup.
