Ive been looking into buying a couple 12" L7's... and I was wondering if anyone had any amp suggestions... I was looking for something that would meat the rms level of 750, but also peak at the 1500 peak level... I was thinkin about  a couple of the Phoenix Gold R15.0:1... Which would you recomend a sealed box or a ported?? I also like the crisp sound of the sealed box but the SPL of a ported.... and depending on the amp, would a dual 4 or dual 2 be better??? thanks for the suggestions...

The box depends on which you like more, simple enough. If you are an SPL person, obv the ported works, sealed for the crisp sound. That is entirely opinion based on you.

The impedance is going to matter on how you want to wire it up, so decide your amp, then figure out what level you want to wire it to, and then figure out which impedance level works best.

I'd personally shoot for like 650w-700w RMS for each speaker, try and give the coils a little breathing room. But that's me.

i second the 650 rms number also peak power ratings mean nothing  i would suggest a KICKER KX 1200.1 and dual 4 ohm subs that will put you at about 600 rms per sub and for the box for me it would depend on the vehicle the seyup is going in

About the kx1200.1, if I wired it at 1 ohm, then that would be 600 watts a sub rms and 1200 watts peak per sub (since the amp peaks at 2400 @ 1 ohm)... right??? so if I were to use 1 kx1200.1 to power both subs, shouldnt I get the dual 2 ohm subs and parallel the voice coils to a 1 ohm load to match the amp??? is this correct?

you have the right idea but the ohm load calculation  wrong if you wire 4 2 ohm coils   all in parallel you will get  a ohm load of .5 if you wire 4 4 ohm coils in parallel you will have an ohm load of  1 which is what you would want if you went with the KX 1200.1   also if you get the L7's get them from a kicker dealer i have had some defective one's

I have 2 L7 15" with 1 1250.1 Sx amp for each sub.
