I prefer amps that don't smoke, fry, leak voltage, or have copious amounts of chrome or neon on them. But that's just me.

There really isn't such thing as the best amp, most people will be particial to a brand because that is the brand they work with the most. I work with alphasonik so thats what i am particial to the 800D i would recomend for your situation because its got the power, well made, and will be in the price range ya need. But Kenwood, kicker, alpine, most major brands would suit your needs.

Stay away from Rockford in my experience 551s 582 watts

Ah the Build quality is laughable! Brass screws? Yeah that'll last! If only it was brass coz god knows what is was but it stripped and mashed the screw heads ON... wait for it

DOING IN UP.... half way
ANd NO im not some moron who put them him at 45 degrees. They're just terrible. I couldn't get the damn things out after the first time i put them in!

IMPERIAL size allen key bolts? WHAT? Its 2005! Common!

And it over heats after 20 mins at 85% of full power n RF brag about UP TO 80% efficiency in heat disapation.
Good quality bass though

u got a smart mouth, wise***! if u can't be an adult in this forum u r probly not going 2 be very welcum hear

Grow up, type like an adult, and learn some punctuation. There is no reason to have three posts and start attacking other forum members. You don't even know me.

Here is a perfect example of the WONDERFUL Governor Schwarzenegger's "No child left behind" public schools plan... This one SHOULD'VE been left behind. Maybe he could have learned something, not the least of which might have been spelling, grammar and punctuation. Let me translate some of his statements:

recomends = "recommends"
a amp = "an amplifier"
eclipse amps sux = "Eclipse amps suck"
dont waist = "don't waste"

Fight! Fight! My money is on haemphyst!

Really though, punctuation and grammar are the hip things to do these days.

I know I'm probably gonna get creamed on this one. But I am partial to MTX and Phoenix Gold. Not too sure about the 2006 line up of MTX though. Have to wait and hear them.

The old Orion HCCA's were some of the best amps made. I still have 3 of them and they are still in good shape.

Well that was entertaining. I love you hae. Anyways.

Got the 1300d Memphis in my car, I love it a lot. Very attractive(and the new model is pretty nice too) and it does a good job booming the subs and running some loud interiors.

I've heard good stuff about old rockford stuff, never heard much about there being problems with quality in manufcaturing but meh. JL audio, US amps, the big names usually put the best out. Really testing them out or finding the one little difference you'll need and seeking it out is your best bet.

chris305,

Since all amps have different current consumptions vs. output watts the choice is yours in the end.  Do the research on ALL amplifiers and choose the one that best suits your requirements.

For the record I love PPI for raw power and believe it or not the old Pioneer Premiers have great signal to noise ratio and output.

PPI PCX2400 (2ch.)Premier GM-X1034 (4ch.)

Everyone will probably give a different answer as to what they believe to be "The Best" since everyone will have their own opinion and that is perfectly legit.

2 pennies spent.  Now I gotta go back to work and make more pennies.
