hey you guys right now i have a jbl bp1200.1 pushing 4 12's im planning on purchasing 4 more 12's. Should i buy another jbl bp 1200.1 or could i buy like a memphis mojo amp which is like 2000watts or something and push all 8? I mean like could i wired 8 4ohm DVC subs to this one amp and have the amp seeing 2 ohms? thanks.

I would reccomend using one amp, and why are you running 8 subs????????    beyond me I guess.   We are running 2 subs and over the 150db mark on the term lab mic.

When you get into large numbers of subs to figure out, use the Parallel and Series Calculators for help.  Start by figuring the impedance of each sub after wiring the coils;  in this case it will either be 2 ohms or 8 ohms.  Use the calculators to enter that number eight times.  Click the = for the result.

You will find that you can either use a high current 1-ohm stable amp to drive all eight, or two amps to power four each at 2 ohms.  Wiring for either way would be series/parallel.

Build the box so that it performs well in the worst case scenario and, in return, it will reward you at all times.

the subs are memphis power reference. they are 250 watts rms a piece with matching and everything im already decided like anywhere from 2000 to liek maybe 2400 watts rms or something. which would like around what the subs are rated at. so waht amps would u guys suggest and also overheating is a problem. thanks
