I intsalled an amp in my sisters 97 camry XLE today but after finishing everything the amp wouldn't power up.  I wired the LOC into the harness that plugs into the factory amp.  Is that right?  Do I have to wire it into the front and rear speakers or one or the other?  I wired the remote lead into what is supposed to be the ignition wire, going by the wiring diagram provided by this site.  Thanks for any help.

the last camry i did was different than the database diagram. when installing anything to a factory radio i use an adapter plug to trace the wires on the factory plug. its a little easier for me since i work at a shop and we have all the plugs but it takes all the guess work out of wireing (usually).

Yes, referencing wires off an adapter plug will save you plenty of time.  Even if you don't have one, you can still test the wires with a multimeter to confirm their function.

The LOC shouldn't have anything to do with the amp not powering up;  double check your remote wire connection, and your grounding point.

I am also putting in a CD changer and when I hooked it up the unit powered on and ejected the cartridge but the control screen wouldn't turn on.  Maybe I hooked the ignition power into the wrong wire?  I spliced it into the gray wire on the factory amp harness. Thanks.
