i just bought an omnifi dmp1 and i'm thinking of installing it by simply splicing the power to the stock head unit with low voltage tap-ins. do you guys think this'll be a problem? i figured since i'm not bypassing the fuse box and the dmp1's wiring adapter has a fuse as well that i shouldn't blow anything but a fuse should there be a power problem. everything in the car is stock, it's a 2000 vw jetta with the monsoon system.

thanks! let me know if you need any more specifics

oh, also it appears there is no dimmer line to the stock head. the dmp1's manual says this line is to dim the display when the headlights are on... well, the headlights are *always* on, so i can probably leave this disconnected, right?
