Pics, Door panel x-over mounting?

Ok, so here is my door panel, I wanting to mount this crossover flush, or slightly raised but not just screwed down on the surface if you know what I mean.  I've seen some down like this where they are mounted from inside with plexi over them.  the plexi replacing where the cutout is but I just cant figure out how to get the edges nice and neat if I go cutting away at my door panel.  Any cool ideas on how to mount, where to mount.  I'm pretty skilled at plastic and body work, but I don't have a dremmel tool!  thanks for the input.   Oh yeah, I know how much everybody likes pics, so here is some more of little projects I've done and the car.  Cheap and effective.    This was an old playstation one mobile attach screen that I picked up from my old electronics store job that I had for like 20 bucks when we discontinued them.  It was enclosed in a white round case if ya'll remember, so I busted the case and pulled out the raw tft lcd and with a little knowledge wired (rigged) up a composite connection.  I used an abs frame and some plexi and mounted like you see.. Not something a customer might pay for, but good enough for a six pack of beer and one nights work i guess.  The second pic is of the DVD I mounted in the glove box the same night,  cheap but like I said effective.  Keeps the wife busy on road trips.  I'll actually do something a little more appealing with real gear one of these days.

Just did this very task last week in the RX8 actually. What you need to do is make a pair of identical templates, glue them into position on each door. Take a olfa knife and slowly cut through the plastic. It works best to do this with many progressively deeper cuts, don't try and go through all at once. Eventually your piece will cut through. From what I can see, you should be able to take that door panel apart and vinyl the bottom section, if so then you can wrap the edges of the piece that you just cut away.

Cut some clear plexi for the inside, heat it up with a heat gun to mold it into the desired curve of the door if their is one. A truckload of hot glue should be enough to hold it in place. Scuff up the backside of the doorpanel so that the glue has something to grab to. Next make yourself a black abs mounting plate to attach the crossover to. The mounting plate should have tabs on it to mount to whatever is possible on the backside of the panel. Lastly, if you want, throw some led's in there to light it up.

I like the idea of flushing in the x-overs. It certainly would look cool but I have always preffered a more stock look and end up placing the x-over's under the dash.

But as far as flushing the x-over with plexi or whatever start by making an "x" in the vinyl that is sligtly smaller than your x-over and peel it back part way. Remove the hard plastic with a dremel like tool and fold or roll the extra vinyl over the sides to make a nice frame. As far as keeping the x-over mounted, try some screws with pieces of piping on them to act as spacers or hot glue. Good luck?

I like the stock look too, but if I went this route I'd probably nix the plexi altogether for a flush-mount of the x-over cover.  If you've got vinyl it'd be sharpest if you just folded it over & behind IMO.  BUT FIRST I'd be REAL sure there's even enough space back there to munt the x-over between the inner & outer panels - I'm not even sure how you'd measure that.

Ok, here is the cover, you can see the (more like 1/16")   lip around the edge with the clips.  It'll be a pain cutting exactly this much small to achieve the snap on effect, but I think I can do it!  Also you can see where there is the center of the cover and it has a little cavity, it's a perfect spot for an LED to go.
