hi i have a pioneer deh- p77mp and the screen has just started playing up on it going on and off but i you gave it a little wack it would come back on so i thought it would be a loose connection so i took apart the face of the screen to check but it seems ok and so does the strap cable on the motorised part but now if you tap it or move it in anway it just stays off it wont come back on at all but i can listen to the radio and cds still but it is pointless having no display can anyone help me out.

Two things:  First, if you have to "wack" any piece of electronic gear to make it work correctly, it is broken and needs professional repair.  Second, learn how to write sentences using proper punctuation, please.

Try cleaning the contacts on both ends. This works for me when my pioneer screen starts turning off and on.

thanks for the help, i think it is past the stage of the contacts needing to be cleaned, might aswell just get rid of it because it will cost more that the unit is worth to repair it.
