Will this combo work? I have a Sony head unit that i'm replacing the factory unit with. I ran across a good deal on the following equipment. A Power Acoustik OV4-800 amp and a DB Drive PLT10D (10" sub). My question was will the amp push the sub since they are diff ohm's. I"m looking to push the 4 door speakers with the head unit since it's pushing 52x4 and there are only 5x8's. But can I use the 4 channel amp to push the single sub with a decent sound. Any suggestions will be great so the shops around here will not try to rip me off..
Thanks
you can run any sub with any amp in thery but if it will sound good is a different store so for your ? you will have to hook it up to see if it will sound good i would suggest a small mono block amp for the sub and use the 4 channel for the 5x8's and for the ohm's they don't have to match you just can't run an amp at a lower ohm load then it can handle if you wan't suggestions on an amp for the sub let me know the sub spec's

The speaker specs are https://www.dbdrive.net/eng/platsubs.html (the PL10d4)
Amp specs that I have is https://www.poweracoustik.com/gothicseries.html (OV4-800)
Do you not think the Sony head unit will push the 5x8's with a descent sound?
that sub looks impressive that four channel amp is not enough power and the sony H/U will power the 5x8's but if they can handle the power from the 4 channel amp you will get better sound from the 5x8's and for that sub i would suggest at least 800 RMS @ 2 ohm's did you already buy the amp ? and the sub ?
