So Ive had my system fully together for about 7 months now (pieces of it in for years), Ive had issues with the sound quality and some weird noises, however lately its just ridiculous.  Ill start by listing my equipment....

HU: Eclipse CD8443 (two years old, purchased from an authorized dealer)

Amps: Fosgate 1001bd (this guy is still running strong, not too worried about it), and a fosgate 851x (this is where Im assuming my problem is, I bought this amp as a factory REFURB from fosgate)

Subs: two JL 15w0s in a fourth order bandpass (no issues with these)

Speakers: Alpine 6.5 type x components up front (spx-177a) and eclipse 6x8s in the rear (dont remember hte model number)

The car is a 1999 ford expedition eddie bauer.  Now for the issue, about two weeks ago I started to notice that my front left tweeter was sounding weird, sounded like a little distortion, however I blew it off assuming it was the new cd I had been listening to.  Well after switching cds and it getting worse I took a good listen to it and decided it was starting to blow.  Shut off my front left speaker on my deck and continued listening till I had time to switch it out.  Well on the way back from a town an hour away I noticed my front right speaker was cutting in and out, and not like a short, it was like fading in and out.  Shut off both front speakers assuming they both blew (I set my gains and then had them checked by a friend at the local shop that assured me they were completely fine, had that amp in for like 6-7 months now, no issues thus far).  Well with the fronts shut off I heard the rears a lot better and realized that they werent completely gone but they were definitely not too healthy.   Got a little mad that all four of my speakers were blown, luckily they were all under warranty, otherwise I would have been out roughly $1000.   Well I went and got all four warrantied out and installed all but the front right (still halfway through sound deadening the door), shut off the fronts at the deck and left the rears on.  Well when I put them in, upon first turning it on I realized that the rears ALREADY sounded blown.  So its obvious that its not the speakers, the rears were brand new, cut through the tape on the box myself, and they already sound blown.  Im assuming that somehow the output transistors on my amp are screwed up, but Ive never heard of anything like this.  Any help would be GREATLY appreciated, Im pretty much lost on this one and would love to have my stereo back in my car sounding good once again.  What are your guesses, like I said Im assuming its the amp, however it could be possible that its the deck too.

Thanks,

Jeff

Yep, sounds like your amp is defective.  Sorry, it happens.

Haha well thanks for the incredibly quick reply, even if its bad news.  Is this any sort of repairable issue or should I just go buy a new one?

Take a look to see if the amp is still under warranty because it seems that it was deffective from the moment you got it just got worse over time. But get an estimate on fixing cost and see if its worth it or not
